Key Responsibilities

• Assist instructors in operating laboratory classes, including setting up equipment and materials
• Organize, maintain, and control inventory of lab supplies and equipment
• Prepare lab experiments and demonstrations under the guidance of instructors or senior lab personnel
• Ensure compliance with all applicable health and safety regulations, policies, and established work practices
• Maintain lab equipment by cleaning and performing basic repairs, and contacting supervisors for more complicated repairs
• Provide clerical assistance for lab maintenance and attendance purposes
• Assist students with using lab software and equipment, as needed

Essential Qualifications

Education

• High School Diploma or GED required

Experience

• 1 year of experience in an educational lab setting or related area preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, and web page applications
• Ability to work effectively with persons from diverse backgrounds
• Organizational skills to receive, organize, maintain, test, and set up lab equipment, materials, or hardware supplies
• Familiarity with an academic lab setup, configuration, and testing of related equipment
• Physical ability to lift 25 lbs.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with educational software and technology
• Certification in laboratory safety or related field
