About the Role

We're looking for qualified and enthusiastic bilingual after school tutors to work with students in grades preschool through 12. As a tutor, you'll provide small group direct instruction, support students with a prescribed curriculum, and ensure that students are actively engaged and motivated to learn. This is a unique opportunity to make a difference in the lives of students and contribute to the betterment of education in the USA.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide differentiation in small group direct instruction to meet the diverse needs of students
• Implement instructional routines and learning strategies as outlined in the curriculum and presented in professional development sessions
• Ensure that students are actively engaged and provide individual help throughout each session with a focus on student growth
• Administer pre-tests and post-tests to assess student progress and understanding
• Progress monitor and record student growth to inform instruction and make data-driven decisions
• Submit daily attendance and communicate with parents as necessary
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to share progress monitoring results and develop strategies for student success
• Supervise students during transition times, snack periods, and dismissal
• Attend mandatory professional development sessions specifically designed for the after school program
• Perform other duties as assigned to support the success of the program

Requirements and Qualifications

Essential Qualifications

• Illinois Professional Educators License with Bilingual Education endorsement required
• Appropriate certification and licensure required, especially for High School positions
• Bilingual skills in English and another language (Thursdays are mandatory bilingual days)
• Teaching experience in the relevant grade level is preferred

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with diverse student populations and English language learners
• Knowledge of curriculum design and implementation
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
