Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified candidate for the tenure-track position of Assistant Professor in the Department of English. The successful candidate will be expected to teach a range of courses, including writing-intensive programs, develop and teach new courses that align with their expertise, and contribute to the department's scholarship and service missions. Key Responsibilities

• Teach 12 hours per semester across a broad range of courses, including:
  • First-Year Writing
  • Professional/technical writing
  • Medical writing
  • Digital writing
  • Content/new media writing
  • Big data writing
  • Writing in the disciplines (WID)
• Develop and teach new courses that reflect the candidate's strengths and interests
• Perform departmental and university service, including committee work and advising students
• Maintain an active scholarly agenda, including research, publication, and presentation
• Contribute to the department's mission to provide high-quality education and promote a culture of excellence

Requirements and Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• Ph.D. in English or a related field from a regionally accredited university
• Evidence of teaching excellence
• An active research agenda

Preferred Qualifications:

• Expertise in writing studies, with the ability to teach on-campus and online courses
• Knowledge of generative AI technology
• Experience with curriculum development and program assessment
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
