About the Role
We’re looking for a
Lead Engineer with deep expertise in Node.js, MongoDB, and a modern front-end framework, paired with a bold vision for AI-assisted development.If you’ve architected complex systems with mission-critical APIs, handled millisecond-level latency at scale, and pushed the boundaries of how AI can empower engineers—this role is for you.You’ll join our Reselling Team, the team behind our core payment solutions that power almost every add-on transaction across HighLevel. You'll lead the end-to-end development of new features, own key architectural decisions, and drive innovation where AI meets software engineering, ensuring the code we generate is not just fast, but accurate, reliable, and production-ready.This is a high-impact, hands-on role currently contributing to ~$20M ARR across 5+ products and is the default engine for all subscription products at Highlevel. You’ll play a major role in shaping how we use AI to speed up development across the entire stack—and deliver real value to businesses at scale.Responsibilities

Lead the design and development of scalable, high-performance web applications using Node.js, MongoDB, and a modern front-end framework.- Own features end-to-end—from architecture and implementation to testing, deployment, and optimization.
- Architect and maintain modular, pluggable components that can be reused across the platform.
- Drive technical decision-making across the product and the platform, ensuring stability, scalability, and maintainability.
- Integrate and optimize AI-assisted development tools, enhancing reliability, minimizing hallucinations, and improving developer productivity.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Product, Design, and AI Research to deliver impactful features.
- Mentor and support fellow engineers, contributing to a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.Proactively identify and resolve
performance, scalability, and security issues.Requirements

6+ years of Expert-level proficiency in Node.js and MongoDB, with a strong understanding of backend architecture and performance optimization.- Solid experience with
modern front-end frameworks (e.g., React, Vue, Angular) and building full-stack web applications.- Experienced in integrating and scaling payment gateway solutions.Proven track record of
architecting complex systems and shipping scalable, high-performance web apps in production.- Experience building
modular, pluggable UI components or widgets for reuse across applications.- Strong understanding of software design patterns, API design, and microservices architecture.
- Familiarity with
AI-assisted development tools and a passion for pushing the boundaries of AI in the software engineering lifecycle.- Ability to guide
technical architecture, make high-impact decisions, and mentor other engineers.- Experience with
code quality, testing, deployment pipelines, and optimizing dev workflows.Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills. Apply to this Job
