Job Purpose and Key Responsibilities

As a Remote Proofreader, you will be responsible for:

• Electronically proofreading, revising, and quality checking transcripts for accuracy in relation to their corresponding audio files
• Transcribing missing text as needed to properly correct transcripts for our clients
• Providing constructive feedback to transcribers
• Tracking productivity metrics as needed after each shift
• Performing other tasks as needed to support the team

Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• Intermediate to Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word & Microsoft Excel: Proficiency in these software applications is essential for proofreading and editing transcripts
• Superb attention to detail: A keen eye for detail is critical for ensuring accuracy and consistency in transcripts
• Mastery of the English language: A strong command of English grammar, punctuation, and spelling is required
• Self-motivated and proactive: The ability to work independently and manage your time effectively is essential for success in a remote work environment
• Ability to work independently: You should be comfortable working from home with minimal supervision
• Working computer with high-speed Internet access: A reliable computer and internet connection are necessary for remote work
• Ability to quickly learn and use new software web-based tools: You should be able to adapt to new tools and technologies as needed
• Associates Degree preferred: While not required, an associate's degree in a related field may be beneficial; work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
