About Us

Located in Oak Park, Illinois, just eight miles west of downtown Chicago, Oak Park and River Forest High School (OPRF) is a one-school district that serves students from two sender districts. With a diverse student body of approximately 3,300 students, we offer over 200 courses, a range of programs for students with special needs, 75 clubs and activities, and 29 competitive sports. Position Summary

As an Evening Math Tutor, you will play a vital role in supporting student learning and academic success by providing individualized tutoring and instructional support in mathematics. You will work closely with students, teachers, and parents to ensure that students receive the guidance they need to excel in their math studies.

Key Responsibilities

• Demonstrate a commitment to equity, excellence, and high expectations for all students, and a commitment to the academic and personal well-being of each student.
• Provide tutoring and instructional support to students in mathematics, either in-person or remotely, to help them complete assignments and understand complex concepts.
• Create a safe, clean, positive, and respectful learning environment that fosters student engagement and motivation.
• Exhibit a high degree of professionalism, including effective communication with students, teachers, and parents.
• Utilize technology, including Zoom and Google Apps, to facilitate remote tutoring and communication with students and staff.
• Perform other related duties as assigned, including adapting to changing circumstances and priorities.

Qualifications and Requirements

To be considered for this role, you should possess:

• An Illinois Professional Educator License (preferred).
• Three or more years of teaching experience (desired).
• Experience working with students in a tutoring or instructional capacity.
• Comfort with technology, including Zoom and Google Apps.
• A strong commitment to equity, excellence, and high expectations for all students.
