Job Responsibilities

As a Data Center Operations Technician, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Installing, configuring, testing, and troubleshooting hardware and server software
  • Configuring and troubleshooting Linux OS-associated issues on servers
  • Deploying and maintaining Google's advanced data center server and network infrastructure
  • Participating in or leading troubleshooting and resolving critical or escalated technical issues
  • Testing and troubleshooting new server hardware components and designs
  • Collaborating and partnering with people and teams to overcome problems
  • Contributing and leading efforts/tasks in the deployment, maintenance, and support of modern and new data center infrastructure

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • Experience troubleshooting hardware or community-associated troubles using Linux-based tools
  • Experience in hardware, networking equipment, operating systems, and data center operations
  • A high school diploma or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred candidates will have:

  • Experience working in a data center or network operation center environment
  • Experience with light coding or scripting
  • Experience with networking protocols
  • Ability to collaborate and partner with people and teams to overcome problems
