As a Realtime Technical Services Coordinator, you'll play a vital role in our real-time captioning department, providing customer and captioner support in a fast-paced environment.

About the Role

We're seeking a highly experienced and skilled Realtime Technical Services Coordinator to join our Operations team at VITAC. As a night shift coordinator, you'll be responsible for ensuring the continuity of closed captions for live TV networks, troubleshooting client issues, and partnering with Realtime Captioners to set up and verify captions for their scheduled programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up closed captioning for live TV networks, ensuring on-air continuity of captions for all shows being captioned.
  • Research and transcribe scripted portions of programming, using attention to detail to ensure that caption files are correct for live broadcast.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve client issues to ensure continuity of closed captions, providing excellent customer service.
  • Partner with Realtime Captioners to set up, test, and verify captions for their scheduled programs.
  • Assist clients and Captioners with various questions about connections, caption placement, and other technical issues.

Essential Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • A high school diploma; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • The ability to work variable shifts, including late evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Strong English grammar and proofreading skills.
  • MS Office proficiency.
  • Moderate typing ability at 35 wpm.
  • The ability to work effectively on independent tasks or cooperatively as part of a team.
  • Experience with video equipment is helpful, but not required.
  • Customer service/retail experience is a plus.

You'll also need to successfully pass VITAC proficiency tests to demonstrate your skills and expertise.

Compensation and Benefits
