About Our Company and Industry

Assurant is a leading global provider of specialized risk management and insurance solutions. Our VPS team is dedicated to delivering outstanding service to customers who have purchased vehicle protection products, including mechanical and electrical breakdown repair contracts, vehicle maintenance contracts, and RV part extended service contracts. We're committed to building long-term relationships with our customers and providing them with peace of mind, knowing that their vehicles are protected against unexpected repairs and maintenance costs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle inbound calls and off-phone work items related to vehicle protection products, including explaining claim procedures, coverage details, and claim determinations to customers.
  • Navigate multiple systems to access customer information, claim details, and contract language to provide accurate and timely solutions.
  • Address inbound and outbound calls with repair facilities and service providers to resolve claim payment delays and processing issues.
  • Complete off-phone tasks, including claim audits, processing claim payments, working inbound and outbound emails and faxes, and handling payment requests.
  • May be responsible for handling payment plan updates and manual payment requests.
  • If bilingual, utilize your Spanish language skills to provide exceptional service to our Spanish-speaking customers.

Essential Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 1 year of experience in an office, call center, or customer contact environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with customers, team members, and management.
  • Strong customer service skills, with the ability to work with frequent interruptions and under deadlines.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others to generate ideas and resolve problems.
  • Ability to present a professional image and establish courses of action to ensure efficient completion of work.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in an office, call center, or customer contact environment.
  • Previous experience as a team leader or trainer in an office, call center, or customer contact environment.
  • Relevant licenses or certifications, such as 620 or 440.

Work Environment and Company Culture

Our hours of operation are Monday - Friday, 6 am - 9 pm CST, and Saturday, 7 am - 7 pm CST, with varying shifts available.

Compensation, Perks, and Benefits

We offer competitive compensation, with a starting pay rate of $17.00 per hour. You'll also enjoy a range of benefits, including medical benefits starting on your first day, paid time off, and opportunities for career advancement. As a remote worker, you'll need to have a reliable internet connection, with a minimum speed of 25 Mbps download and 15 Mbps upload.
