Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Teaching Assistant to join our PTECH program team. As a Teaching Assistant, you will provide instructional services to students under the general supervision of a licensed or certified teacher, and complete related work as required. Key Responsibilities

• Provide instructional services to students under the general supervision of a licensed or certified teacher, and complete related work as required.
• Implement specialized instruction to students with emotional and learning disabilities, and collaborate with colleagues to meet student learning needs.
• Communicate regularly and effectively with stakeholders, including students, parents, and colleagues.
• Assist students with daily living skills, such as dressing, toileting, feeding, etc., as applicable.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, and assist with record keeping as required.
• Attend staff meetings and trainings, and participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching and learning practices.
• Promote equity and culturally responsive practices to create inclusive environments, and support students to ensure a safe, orderly environment that is conducive to teaching and learning.

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications:

• A high school diploma or equivalent, with a focus on education or a related field.
• Experience working with students with diverse needs, including emotional and learning disabilities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
• Ability to maintain accurate and up-to-date records, and assist with record keeping as required.
• Flexibility and adaptability, with the ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced educational environment.

Preferred Qualifications

While the following qualifications are not essential, they are highly desirable:

• A degree in education or a related field, with a focus on special education or a related area.
• Experience working in a PTECH program or a similar educational setting.
• Knowledge of culturally responsive practices and equity principles, with the ability to promote inclusive environments.
• Experience with record keeping and data management, with the ability to maintain accurate and up-to-date records.
