Job Overview and Key Responsibilities

As a Google Cloud Engineering Consultant, you will work under the guidance of the Head, Cloud Operations and Platform Service Unit (OPDA), and collaborate with other team members to:

• Support the creation and ongoing development of the GCP Landing Zone, ensuring a secure and efficient cloud infrastructure.
• Design, build, and implement scalable GCP solutions using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation tools, such as Terraform and Ansible.
• Contribute to the development and enhancement of GCP services by designing and implementing new service features.
• Ensure that all GCP solutions are aligned with UNICC Compliance and security standards, adhering to industry best practices.
• Collaborate with the Cloud Solutions team to drive GCP business growth, understand client needs, and design technical cloud solutions to meet their requirements.
• Support GCP FinOps practices to manage costs, optimize resource usage, and enable chargeback for multi-client operations.
• Prepare technical documentation and related procedure guidelines to ensure knowledge sharing and consistency.

Essential Qualifications and Skills

To be considered for this role, you must possess:

• Five (5) or more years of relevant IT experience, including significant experience supporting Google Cloud services.
• Proficiency in application modernization techniques, including containerization, APIs, and microservices, to help modernize and scale applications on GCP.
• Expertise in automation tools, such as Terraform for IaC and configuration management tools like Ansible, for consistent, automated deployments.
• Hands-on experience with migration processes, including discovery, profiling, migration, and operations, leveraging appropriate technologies and automation tools for cloud transitions.
• Solid understanding of ITIL service management practices and methodologies, ensuring alignment with industry standards for service delivery and support.
• A first university degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Certification in Google Cloud Service.
• Expert knowledge of English.

Desirable Qualifications and Skills

• Experience with multi-cloud environments, including AWS or Azure, with a strong understanding of their respective architectures and services.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices, leveraging tools like Bitbucket or GitLab, to automate infrastructure deployment and integration processes.
• Experience with cloud security best practices, such as implementing identity and access management (IAM), encryption, and compliance frameworks across cloud environments.
• Service Management qualification, such as ITIL or ISO 20000.
