Experienced Full Stack Data Engineer – Web & Cloud Application Development for YouTube's Commercial Enterprise Approach and Operations Team

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Full Stack Data Engineer to join our Commercial Enterprise Approach and Operations team. As a key member of this team, you will be responsible for driving all cross-to-market capabilities for the YouTube business, including strategy and business operations, analytics and data science, partnership enablement, and product activation. You will work closely with stakeholders to discover and define business data needs, design, build, and optimize data architecture and ETL pipelines, and pressure the highest standards in data reliability, integrity, and governance.

Responsibilities

* Conduct requirements gathering and problem scoping sessions with business stakeholders, commercial enterprise users, and executive stakeholders to discover and define business data needs. * Design, build, and optimize the data architecture and extract, transform, and load (ETL) pipelines to make them accessible for business data analysts, data scientists, and business users to enable data-driven decision-making. * Work closely with analysts to productionize and scale value-creating capabilities, including data integrations and transformations, model functions, and statistical and machine learning models. * Pressure the highest standards in data reliability, data integrity, and data governance, enabling accurate, regular, and trustworthy data sets, business intelligence products, and analyses. * Interact with the analyst network, communicate with analysts to identify key user journeys and data sourcing inefficiencies, suggest best practices, and lead analyst trainings.

Requirements

* Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (e.g., computer science, engineering, mathematics, physics) or equivalent relevant experience. * 5 years of experience in data engineering or business intelligence roles. * Experience with relational databases, including SQL queries, database design, and schema layout. * Experience with one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, C++). * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to break down complex, multi-dimensional problems. * Excellent business and technical communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

* Master's degree in a quantitative field (e.g., computer science, engineering, statistics, mathematics). * Experience with data warehouses, distributed data platforms, and data lakes. * Ability to navigate ambiguity and work in a fast-paced environment with multiple stakeholders. * Strong data visualization and storytelling skills, with the ability to communicate complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders.
