Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement complex data science models and algorithms using technical expertise in machine learning, statistical modeling, probability, and decision theory.
  • Understand the business context behind large datasets and develop meaningful analytic solutions to drive business decisions.
  • Apply analytical rigor and statistical techniques to analyze vast amounts of data, using advanced statistical methods such as predictive modeling, customer profiling, segmentation analysis, survey design, and data mining.
  • Program using tech stack Python, PySpark, Matplotlib, TensorFlow, PyTorch, etc., and utilize Cloud Computing on Azure/Databricks, querying in Snowflake.
  • Perform machine learning techniques, including supervised and unsupervised algorithms, to build predictive models and prescriptive solutions to support various business use cases.
  • Build algorithms such as decision trees, regression, XGBoost, K means, and anomaly detection, and interpret results to inform business decisions.
  • Collaborate with finance, researchers, software developers, and business leaders to define product requirements and provide analytical support.
  • Communicate complex technical insights and recommendations to business stakeholders and management teams, both verbally and in writing.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and at least 4 years of experience in data science, machine learning, quantitative or computational capabilities, or High School/GED and at least 7 years of experience in the same field.
  • M.S. in STEM, Computer Science, Information Systems, Physics, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Machine Learning, or a related field.
  • At least 4 years of experience working with large-scale, complex datasets to create/optimize machine learning, predictive, forecasting, and/or optimization models.
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL, Python, PySpark, or other programming languages.
  • Advanced skill in exploratory data analysis, feature engineering and selection, detecting patterns, learning distributions, visualizing results, and extracting insights to support business decisions.
  • Experience with supervised and unsupervised learning techniques, including linear and logistic regression, time series modeling, decision trees, and clustering.
  • Experience with Cloud ML platforms, distributed computing, data pipelines, cloud data stores, and serving engines.
  • Experience designing and analyzing A/B experiments.
  • Advanced skill in communicating technical concepts and insights to non-experts.
  • Experience working in dynamic environments, prioritizing needs, and delivering results.
  • At least 2 years of experience contributing to financial decisions within the workplace.
  • At least 2 years of direct management, indirect management, and/or cross-functional team leadership.
  • Willingness to travel up to at least 10% of the time for business purposes (domestic and international).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in STEM, Computer Science, Information Systems, Physics, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Machine Learning, or a related field.
  • Experience working with IoT and Edge AI is a plus.
  • Experience in Reinforcement Learning is a plus.
  • Experience in the healthcare industry is a plus.
