Job Summary
We're seeking a highly skilled and motivated Video Operator to join our team remotely. As a Video Operator, you'll be responsible for supporting the technical aspects of live events, including camera operation, video transmission, and remote broadcasting. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a talented team, develop your skills, and contribute to the success of Disney's live productions.
Key Responsibilities
- Camera Operation and Configuration: Adjust video levels, black/white balance, and color balance between all cameras to ensure consistent and high-quality video feeds.
- Video Signal Management: Fix and route video signals, working closely with the video team to set up screens for talent and the show.
- Troubleshooting and Maintenance: Investigate and resolve video-related issues, including camera, cabling, lens, and other technical problems.
- Remote Compound Management: Oversee and organize remote compound video, fiber link, and source lists to ensure efficient transmission and reception of video signals.
- Workflow Coordination: Collaborate with Operations and Creation partners to develop and implement workflows that meet the needs of live events.
- Technical Support and Training: Provide technical support and training on video equipment, transmission systems, and other related technologies.
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree: A degree in a relevant field, such as communications, broadcasting, or a related technical field.
- Live Production Experience: Familiarity with live production equipment and workflows, including cameras, switchers, and transmission systems.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in reading and working with waveform/vectorscope (SDI and IP, HD, UHD, and HDR) and other technical tools.
- Problem-Solving and Critical Thinking: Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to troubleshoot technical issues efficiently.
- Flexibility and Adaptability: Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as required by production schedules.
Preferred Qualifications
- Broadcast Equipment Knowledge: Familiarity with broadcast equipment and remote production workflows.
- Fiber Optic Systems: Knowledge of fiber optic systems and cabling.
- Technical Certifications: Relevant technical certifications, such as those in broadcast engineering or video production.
