Key Responsibilities

• Conduct unconditional exploratory data analysis to identify novel ideas and opportunities for improving product recommendations
• Design and execute A/B tests of new recommendation algorithms and strategies to measure their effectiveness
• Proactively monitor recommendation models to identify potential issues, determine root causes, and resolve problems
• Develop new tools and processes that enable the team to be more efficient and productive
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners, including product, engineering, and machine learning teams, to drive business outcomes
• Communicate key insights and recommendations to senior leaders across the organization, driving data-driven decision-making

Essential Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need:

• A Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field, such as Computer Science, Mathematics, or Statistics
• Strong analysis or data science experience in an e-commerce environment, with a proven track record of driving business outcomes through data-driven insights
• Proficiency in SQL, with expertise in query optimization, stored procedures, string parsing, and Vertica/Hive/Voila/Flash
• Proficiency in Python and Python tools, such as Jupyter notebook, pandas, sklearn, and matplotlib
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a collaborative and proactive approach to working with stakeholders
• A demonstrated history of taking ownership and driving outcomes, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications are highly desirable:

• Experience with experimental design (A/B tests) and statistical analysis to drive business decision-making
• Knowledge and experience using machine learning algorithms/techniques (decision trees, random forest, deep learning, etc.) in a business setting
• Strong business acumen, analytical skills, and technical capabilities, combined with problem-solving skills
