Job Overview

This position serves as a Cloud Engineer (Microsoft Azure) and subject matter expert, working directly with managers, architects, engineers, and developers to deliver cloud-based solutions. The role requires hands-on technical design and implementation of infrastructure solutions in the Microsoft Azure cloud environment. As a Cloud Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring solutions designed in Microsoft Azure are compatible and consistent with other public, private, or hybrid cloud solutions and consistent with customer architecture requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Build prototypes of potential features and improve automation of applications, systems, and platforms
• Apply knowledge to practical and sustainable applications and capabilities
• Contribute, interpret, and communicate business, technical, project, and operational strategies to the team
• Formulate and direct activities that align short-term goals and long-term initiatives
• Influence and drive the adoption of best practices and high-quality standards across the division
• Integrate various solution components across multiple platforms using industry-standard interfaces
• Test and resolve issues, perform root cause analysis, identify gaps, recommend solutions and preventative measures, and guide team members towards solution delivery plans
• Perform proof of concepts and use diagnostic/debugging capabilities to solve today's challenges in cross-platform systems
• Orchestrate reviews for system additions and/or improvements
• Promote and support a culture of compliance, risk prevention/mitigation, and corporate responsibility throughout the organization

Essential Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
• 1-3 years of experience in scripting to automate operational tasks
• Ability to advise and guide various team members through several concurrent projects
• Familiarity with cloud methodologies
• Passion for cloud technologies

Preferred Qualifications

• Microsoft Azure certification
• Experience with the Azure portal and console
• Familiarity with XML, SOAP, REST, PowerShell, and Puppet
• More than 3 years of experience implementing enterprise cloud technologies
• More than 2 years of experience with enterprise software systems
