Job Overview

As a Customer Development Manager - Costco Account, you'll play a critical role in driving category growth and customer satisfaction by leveraging your analytical and thought leadership skills. This remote opportunity requires a seasoned professional with a strong background in the CPG sector, preferably in Adult Beverage, and experience working with top national customers like Costco.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage data sources to monitor the field execution of vendor programs and assortments, ensuring seamless category management.
  • Communicate complex data insights to multiple stakeholders, including internal teams, external retail customers, and key suppliers.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry best practices and provide actionable recommendations to drive sales, margin, and market development goals.
  • Analyze and report data to identify trends, issues, or exceptions, and develop solutions to optimize category performance.
  • Track category performance, including sales, profits, margins, and market share, and develop metrics to measure success.
  • Create and deliver effective reports using POS data, Syndicated Data, and account-specific database information.
  • Evaluate supplier performance and provide recommendations to enhance inventory and fill rate objectives.
  • Apply customer, consumer, and industry insights to drive category growth and deliver superior client satisfaction.
  • Manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree and experience within the CPG sector, preferably in Adult Beverage.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, and quantitative analysis skills.
  • Experience incorporating and interpreting data from multiple unrelated data sources into concise action-oriented recommendations.
  • Understanding of National Chain Sales, Retail, and Distributor operations.
  • Expertise in category management principles, syndicated data, and shopper/consumer insights.
  • Ability to collaborate with external retail customers, key suppliers, and internal teams.
  • Assertive leadership and decision-making skills with an aptitude for understanding changing market dynamics.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with Syndicated data (Nielsen, IRI), Internal Shipment Data, and Household Panel.
  • Strong leadership, decision-making capability, and a proven track record of success.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Costco experience is a value add.
