About the Role: Agency Sales Manager

As an Agency Sales Manager, you will serve as a knowledgeable authority on travel management companies (TMCs) and play a pivotal role in shaping our business strategies and partnerships. Your expertise will be crucial in navigating the complex landscape of corporate travel management, identifying opportunities for growth, and fostering strong relationships with key accounts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a subject matter expert for TMC business, driving revenue and market share growth through informed decision-making and strategic partnerships.
  • Develop and maintain key business relationships with TMC accounts, focusing on creating valuable learning experiences for Alaska Airlines.
  • Exercise judgment to manage pricing, cost analysis, and negotiations for TMC agreements, ensuring the highest possible revenue and market share.
  • Collaborate with legal and risk management teams to develop contractually binding agreements.
  • Analyze revenue, discounts, and contract performance to ensure goal compliance and profitability.
  • Foster marketing-related advancements to support sales efforts, working closely with marketing and business loyalty teams.
  • Manage the setup of TMC agency accounts through sales calls, negotiating agreements, and coordinating with pricing.
  • Drive business growth and lead development of other agency accounts through collaboration with the revenue management team.
  • Monitor reporting and metrics to identify trends and develop strategies for market positioning.
  • Effectively manage time and resources, maximizing revenue opportunities at the most cost-effective rate for Alaska Airlines.
  • Prepare and execute local sales plans according to corporate sales objectives, ensuring Alaska Airlines is competitively positioned in the market.

Essential Qualifications and Skills

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in outside sales, preferably in a retail management environment or related field.
  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience/training.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Authorization to work in the U.S.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

While not mandatory, the following qualifications and skills are highly desirable:

  • Previous airline experience.
  • Familiarity with travel industry data reporting sources like ARC and Sabre.
  • Proficiency in CRM tool Salesforce.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to drive results for the benefit of the organization.
  • Ability to establish cross-functional, collaborative relationships with various teams and workgroups.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the capacity to handle conflicts arising from competing priorities.
