About the Location Team

The Location team is a cross-discipline group of experts in iOS, Android, web, and backend development, working closely with other search teams, platform teams, and partners in design, product, and data science. The team owns a family of products in the location space, including the map search experience, point of interests, the places page, and guidebook. By joining this team, you'll collaborate with talented individuals to design, prototype, and deliver high-quality guest-facing products on Desktop and Mobile web.

Key Responsibilities

• Build the next-generation map search experience used by millions of guests, ensuring a seamless and intuitive interface.
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners, including Product Managers, Experience Designers, and other Engineers to design and deliver high-quality products.
• Identify areas of improvement and drive web best practices, maintaining a high-quality bar in the codebase.
• Work closely with backend engineers to integrate frontend and backend components, ensuring a cohesive and efficient search experience.
• Participate in code reviews, ensuring adherence to coding standards and contributing to the growth and development of the team.

Essential Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

• 2+ years of industry experience developing web applications at scale, with a strong focus on frontend development.
• Experience with modern JavaScript/TypeScript libraries and tooling, such as React and GraphQL.
• Fluency in HTML, CSS, and related web technologies, with a deep understanding of web development principles.
• Strong product sense and a passion for UX product development, with the ability to collaborate with Product Management, Design, and backend engineers.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team.

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following skills and experiences will give you a competitive edge:

• Prior experience working on map-related products and/or 3rd-party SDK integration.
• Familiarity with design tools like Sketch or Figma.
• Experience with testing frameworks and methodologies.

Airbnb offers a competitive salary range of $153,000 - $184,900 USD, depending on factors such as training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, and market demands.
