Your Role: Director of Product Design

As the Director of Product Design for Yahoo Finance, you will collaborate with a cross-functional team spread across the US and globally to identify key business and user experience opportunities. You'll lead design activities at the portfolio level, create partnerships across design disciplines, and advocate for the skills required to deliver business value.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with a cross-functional team to identify key business and user experience opportunities and drive consensus within a diverse team of stakeholders.
• Lead design activities at the portfolio level, identifying unique opportunities to apply design skills to deliver business value.
• Create partnerships across design disciplines and portfolios to avoid duplication and integrate experiences for customers.
• Advocate for the skills required for the product and portfolio, ensuring that the design team has the necessary expertise to deliver exceptional user experiences.
• Build a strong design culture within the greater product organization by promoting design thinking to counterparts in Product and Engineering.
• Grow the design team through mentorship, visioning, and team development, ensuring that the team is equipped to deliver high-quality design solutions.
• Ensure that work across the team is of the highest quality and that implemented products accurately reflect the product and design vision.

About You: Qualifications and Skills

To succeed as our Director of Product Design, you'll need to have a strong background in product design, leadership, and collaboration. Here are the essential qualifications and skills we're looking for:

Essential Qualifications:

• 12+ years of cross-platform product design experience in the consumer products space.
• 3+ years of experience managing and developing complex design teams.
• A passion for leadership and the impact that servant leaders can have on a designer's career.
• Solid craftsmanship: skilled in both the theory and practice of design, up-to-date on design patterns, and familiar with user research methods.
• Excellent communication skills across all mediums, with the proven ability to influence a diverse set of stakeholders and executives.
• Demonstrated passion for fintech, financial markets, and Yahoo Finance's product and potential.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience leading concept-to-deliver design projects.
• Experience leading through major UI overhauls or having taken products from 0 to 1.
• A strong understanding of user-centered design and when to apply different tools and processes to achieve a great outcome.

Compensation and Benefits:

The compensation for this position ranges from $160,965.00 - $349,885.00/yr, depending on factors such as your location, skills, and experience. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions, in addition to equity incentives.
