GIS Specialist - UNIVERSAL Technologies
UNIVERSAL Technologies is seeking a GIS Specialist with at least 6 years of related experience for a remote role to support the modernization of the NYS GIS content and hosting platform. Candidates must reside in the EST zone, candidates with active LinkedIn profile preferred. - Bachelors Degree in Geography, Math, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 6 years of relevant professional experience (an equivalent combination of advanced education, training, and experience will be considered).
- 610 years experience in configuring and working with databases, including developing functions and queries.
- Experience developing, testing, and deploying GIS software and GIS datasets.
- Hands-on experience developing scripts and/or object-oriented programming (Python preferred).
- Experience running GIS data extract, transform, load (ETL) workflows manually and through scheduled automation, including triggers, actions, indicators, notifications, and logging.
- Skilled in testing and troubleshooting technical issues with GIS database scripts, tools, and/or workflows.

- Develop, test, and deploy GIS software and GIS datasets.
- Create scripts and/or object-oriented programming solutions (Python preferred) to support automation.
- Run GIS data ETL workflows manually and through scheduled automation, including triggers, actions, indicators, notifications, and logging.
- Test and troubleshoot technical issues with GIS database scripts, tools, and workflows.
