Facilities Associate

Role and Responsibilities: As a Facilities Associate, you will be responsible for supporting day-to-day operations that ensure USPS facilities are clean, safe, and properly maintained. You will assist in the coordination of routine repairs and facility-related tasks that are vital to the overall functionality of our infrastructure.
- Perform general maintenance duties such as cleaning, minor repairs, and equipment inspections
- Assist in facility operations including furniture setup, supply restocking, and room arrangements
- Coordinate with external vendors for specialized maintenance or repair services
- Monitor HVAC, lighting, and plumbing systems and report any issues for escalation
- Ensure all work areas are safe, clean, and compliant with USPS standards
- Support safety initiatives by promptly addressing hazards and ensuring facility security protocols are followed
- Maintain inventory of cleaning and maintenance supplies and report reordering needs
Required Skills and Experience:
- Basic knowledge of facility maintenance tasks and cleaning procedures
- Ability to use standard hand tools and maintenance equipment
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow safety and operational guidelines
- Effective time management skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks
- Good communication skills for reporting and coordination with team members
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in facilities or building maintenance roles
- Familiarity with HVAC systems, lighting, plumbing, and general repair practices
- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment
