The Engineering team works on multiple digital properties at Fortune: from the editorial website, conferences, Fortune Recommends and others. As a Tech Lead/Engineering Manager, you will:

• Maintain a strong individual contributor role:
  Continue to actively participate in coding, design, and implementation of key software components.
   

• Lead and mentor junior engineers:
  Guide and mentor junior team members on best practices, code quality, and professional development.
   

• Conduct performance reviews:
  Provide constructive feedback, set performance goals, and guide career development for team members.
   

• Drive technical excellence:
  Champion high-quality software development practices, including code reviews, testing, and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD).
   

• Lead large-scale projects:
  Take ownership of complex projects, defining technical roadmaps, and leading cross-functional teams to successful delivery.
   

• Revenue-focused development:
  Align engineering efforts with business goals, focusing on projects that deliver measurable ROI and drive revenue growth.
   

• Data-driven decision making:
  Leverage data and analytics to inform technical decisions, track project progress, and measure the impact of engineering initiatives.
   

• Contribute to the design and architecture of scalable and maintainable software systems.
   

Required Skills:

• Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and modern front-end frameworks (e.g., Next.js, React, Angular)
   

• Experience with backend technologies (e.g., Node.js, Python, Java)
   

• Familiarity with Content Management Systems (CMS) and their integrations
   

• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
   

• Strong understanding of software engineering principles (e.g., design patterns, object-oriented programming)
   

• Proven experience leading and mentoring junior engineers
   

• Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
   

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
   

• Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
   

• Experience with agile development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban)
   

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with data analysis and visualization tools
   

• Experience with project management tools (Jira, Asana)
   

• Contributions to open-source projects

Total Compensation Ranges (base salary & bonus):

Tech Lead/Engineering Manager hybrid role: $119,000.00 - $213,000.00 plus 10-15% of a discretionary annual Bonus
